Pesticides Tied to Lower IQ in Children

 This article from U.S News Raloff writes that pregnant women who are exposed to organophosphate pesticides, usually used to kill bugs, are likely to have a kids with seven IQ points lower than kids with low exposure of pesticides. This pesticide crosses the human placenta and works its way into the brain signaling compounds. The Organophosphate products aren’t toxic they are just able to contaminate the mother’s placenta and then affect the brain. She concludes by writing that each IQ drop is very crucial, it can add up extra costs in lost earning during the lifetime of the kid and it can also affect them in school when they begin to learn the basic content for all human beings
