Global Pollution – Michael Evans
Daniella Almanza Ch. 1 Article
This article tells us about all the different types of pollution like air, odor, soil, thermal, noise, visual, and water pollution and how they all affect our planet. It also strives to make the point that “pollution is not always the result of human action; it can also be the consequence of natural disasters”. It then moves on to the effects pollution can give to living organisms. Polluted air is a factor of respiratory disease, cardiovascular disease, throat inflammation and many other things. In China about 650,000 people die each year because of air pollution; in India, over half a million die. Those who are older are more likely to be affected by pollution.
What I enjoyed reading about in this article though is about the effects of toxic gases being released into the atmosphere and causing CO2 levels in our oceans to rise. This causes reefs to perish in a process known as bleaching.
Over all, this article makes people away of what pollution is all about and what negative effects it has on our planet. It should make you want to control any form of pollution habits. To read the article, click here.
