West Virginia Mountaintop Removal: How Coal Mines Have Changed The Appalachian Way Of Life (PHOTOS)

The bruning of powr plants to make coal which is used for electricity causes asthma attacks. The blowing of ash in Nevada kills elsders. About 1.4 millilon acres of forested hills have been demolished by mountain top removal in Appalachia. Also, 2,000 miles of streams have been buried. It has also gotten rid of towns. For example, Lindytown, West Virginia now has only one family living in it when there used to be dozens. Massey Energy has been laying waste in a mountain nearby.
