Coal

Coal

Coal is the most important fuel for producing electricity. Even though coal is creating a bad image for itself, it is still very much needed in our world. Coal caused a traffic jam 75 miles wide in 2010 in China. There is a high demand for coal all around the world. One of its perks is that it does not depend on things like sunlight or wind to work, which is why some prefer it over renewable energy sources. 55 plants for coal closed in the United States in 2012. This number is leaving 395 versus the 5222 in 2010. There is a lot of money that goes into producing coal and some companies just cannot afford that large price tag. People are trying to blame Obama for this problem and government officials say they are trying to do anything they can to help the problem.
