This article discusses the federal government’s efforts to shift towards renewable energy. Specifically, this article describes subsidies for the offshore wind industry. The federal government will be awarding roughly $28 million to seven different offshore wind projects. Each developer will receive up to $4 million to complete the engineering. Furthermore, three of the seven projects will be chosen to receive to $47 million in the coming four years. The prjoects are located in Maine, New Jersey, Virginia, Texas, Ohio, and Oregon. Thus far, President Obama’s “All of the Above” campaign has been focused on diversifying energy sources in the United States.
