Startup OneRoof Energy Secures $100M Fund For Solar Homes

OneRoof Energy, a California-based start up  has lined up a $100 million fund to finance residential rooftop installations. The company uses this fund to sell “solar leases”. Since the average American cannot afford solar panels, this leasing will help provide not only affordable solar panels for the people, but also an increased government budget to support the installation of solar panels and other forms of renewable energy for the benefit the environment. Instead of paying the upfront cost of the solar equipment and installation, homeowners who sign solar leases will put up little or no money upfront. They will then pay a fixed, monthly fee for using the solar electricity from the panels on their roofs.
