Thousands of Children Are at Risk in Central Africa, Aid Agency Warns

The medical charity Doctors Without Borders, are telling us that the Measles epidemic has spread throughout central Africa and threatening the lives of thousands of children. The DWB have estimated that 1-15% of children who do not get medical care die.Many children that are malnourished are susceptible to this disease. And the fact that the eastern Congo has a very short supplies of medical worker and other medicine. Antibiotics can save  many who do develop pneumonia and meningitis and other secondary infections. Measles can also cause blindness. Measles vaccines are one of the causes for the drop in death rates for children under the age of 5 in many countries around the world. The most success has come in the continents of Africa and India.
