Beijing and Smog

This article revolves around the severe extent to which Beijing is being smothered by smog. Smog is not only horrible for healthy but also had severe effects to climate change. The smog was extra hazardous to Beijing one weekend in January of 2013. It elevated levels of airborne soot, or black carbon, to levels which Beijing had never before seen. Soot also has a drastic effect on global warming, or climate change. However, new studies show that the extent of soot’s effects are more drastic than orriginally anticapated. The black carbon is sid to be the “second biggest warmer after carbon dioxide”. However, unlike carbon diozide, black carbon only lingers in the air for a couple of days.
