Everybody sees recycling as a positive thing to do because of its help to the environment, but it is only a good thing if you do it correctly. You cannot recycle the broken up electronic circuit boards with lead, zinc, copper, or other metals. This is not only dangerous to the environment, but it is also dangerous to human health. This was proven through a study of electronic recycling in China. Anna O.W. Leung and Ming H. Wong of Hong Kong Baptist University both collected surface dust samples around a family run recycling workshop. They found very high levels of lead, zinc, and other metals in the workshops. This contaminated the streets around the recycling workshops including homes, schools, and markets. This shows that people spread contaminated very easily.
