Ocean Acidification May Increase 170 Percent This Century

In a new report, experts have concluded that the oceans acidity may increase by 170 percent by the end of the century. This could cause a problem for people who use the Ocean as a primary way of sustaining life, mainly in developing countries. Policy makers met in Monterrey,Californi”a during the “High CO2” convention. More than 500 experts attended this convention.

Expers say that marine biodiversity and marine ecosystem will change because of this. If we keep emitting high amounts of CO2, our coral reefs can seriously be in danger. For example, experts place a strong emphasis on is that cold water coral reefs located deep in the ocean are going to become unable to be inhabited and tropical water coral reefs are eroding faster than they are being built up.
