The Muir Glacier at Glacier Bay National Park in Alaska, is one of the many glaciers that are melting rapidly. It is predicted that in a few centuries the entire glacier will melt causing a huge rise in sea level. Scientists say that this may be inevitable and that some glaciers “have passed the point of no return”. Research says that even if global warming stopped all at once, the climate has already reached a tipping point. Scientists say that the melting of glaciers is the best evidence of global warming. A full glacier melting could cause the sea level to rise 215 feet, taking over a large amount of land.
