Tilikum, Sea Worlds infamous and notorious killer whale, is on the verge of death. Having a terrible history of killing his owner in 2010, karma has come right back at him. He is suffering from breathing problems and has a bacterial infection in his lungs. “Tilikum has lived a long time even though he lives in a container and not the wild.” said one of the trainers. People are trying to tell Sea World to let him out into the ocean one last time so he could swim freely and die in the wild.
Tilikum was captured off Iceland in 1983, and originally went to Sealand of the Pacific, an aquarium in British Columbia, before coming to SeaWorld in Orlando, Florida, in the early 1990s. He has killed three people since then. The three people who died after encounters with Tilikum were Keltie Byrne at Sealand of the Pacific in 1991, and Daniel Dukes and Dawn Brancheau at SeaWorld Orlando, in 1999 and 2010.
Although Tilikum has had a terrible life, he will surely be missed by everyone who he made laugh, cry, and get wet.
Goodbye Tilikum ☹
