Oceans Gaining Ground at Unusually Rapid Rate

Antonio Colmenares

Dr. Llinas

Global warming has sped up the pace of rising sea water “The researchers have discovered that ocean levels remained steady over the last 2000 years, until 1870. Then sea water around the globe began to rise” At first the sea would only rise 0.04 inches a year but now because of global warming it has tripled since 1993. “By far the largest contributor to sea levels creeping upwards is not additional water, but warmer ocean temperatures. As water heats, it expands.” If we don’t wind a way to prevent this ocean rising places with low sea level like key bicayne could be under water in the near future.
